Going up to Jerusalem

The Bible always speaks of going "up to Jerusalem." This short video includes four scripture verses that serve as an illustration of this. The people who wrote the words of the Bible walked as they traveled in the lands of the Bible. Anyone who ever made the journey to Jerusalem apparently never forgot the steep climb required of them! In the parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus began the story by saying, "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho." If he told the story in the Galilee, most of his listeners immediately recognized the road ... and the sensation of walking downhill from the holy city.
